Event Philosophy

Secure Diversity’s Event Philosophy

Secure Diversity events are foundational based on the fact that to secure diversity everywhere we must focus on 100% inclusion of all humans. Secure diversity’s 100% inclusive focus means that all of the events we create, host or co-host with strategic partners provide attendees a platform to gain skills and knowledge they can bring back into their workplace from our conferences, events, and meetups.
Our mission is to create environments and opportunities for ally-ships and mentorships to be established between allies and mentors who are passionate about helping anyone regardless of their educational background establish a career path in the cybersecurity industry.
Secure Diversity was created to help champion solutions to overcome the 3 biggest barriers for humans to succeed in the cybersecurity industry.
The 3 biggest barriers to success:

Personal Cybersecurity Career Identification
75% of matriculating students in college and 75% of the workforce with non-computer science and non-information technology degrees do not see how they can build a career in cybersecurity for themselves. The Talent we NEED in our industry is available!

Financial
Attending events, investment for education / certifications, cybersecurity training, career training, soft-skill training are just a few examples of the financial barriers that reduce the amount of talent humans creating a career within the cybersecurity industry.

Irregular Talent Pattern Acceptance
The cybersecurity industry must acknowledge and accept the fact that irregular patterns are keys to diversification, equitability and inclusion. Hiring from comfortable known patterns does not equate to success, innovation and championing positive disruption within our companies and the industry overall.
